Atrantil uses the whole leaf extract of peppermint (not just oil) to briefly relax the small bowel and soothe/calm down the inflammation of the gut, which in turn allows the other two ingredients in Atrantil (quebracho and horse chestnut) to work more efficiently.
Quebracho Extract
Quebracho is a hardwood tree indigenous to South America. Their notoriously dense wood earned them a name derived from the Spanish phrase, “quebrar hacha,” which means “axe breaker.”
There are over 15 different species of quebracho tree, and many are used for commercial purposes, but only a few are used medicinally. In the realm of gut-related issues, quebracho-colorado has proven to be the most beneficial species and excels where other types of quebracho do not.
In Atrantil, the polyphenols from quebracho colorado are used, which are macromolecules and one of the most stable polyphenols found in nature.
The quebracho colorado polyphenol is a natural and very complex polyphenol, which is extremely powerful. It acts as a hydrogen sink. This means that quebracho colorado absorbs excess hydrogen in the small intestine, leaving less hydrogen to be made into methane or hydrogen sulfide by the archaebacteria.
Secondly, the quebracho begins to compromise the lipid bilayer of archaebacteria. Basically, this means it binds to and disrupts the cell wall of the archaebacteria to allow the horse chestnut to come in and do its job.
As a polyphenol, quebracho is packed with beneficial antioxidants and provides anti-inflammatory properties. In the colon, it is broken down and acts as both a prebiotic and postbiotic.

- Gets rid of the bacteria and gets it to go into the colon where it belongs.
- Gets rid of the archaea so that it goes back into the colon where it belongs.
With these 3 functions, Atrantil allows your small intestine to flow freely once again and allows the bacteria to go back to the colon where they belong- relieving gut symptoms.
