“Naruto” rolls are riceless rolls utilizing cucumber as the outer wrap for sushi.

While this recipe isn’t made with raw fish, you could do it if you were confident in the quality of your ingredients. For us however, we’ll be using cooked ingredients.

This delicious vegetable packed dish fulfills the Japanese food lover in all of us, and the lack of rice makes it Keto, Diabetic, and Celiac Friendly.

Soy-free soy sauce alternatives taste just like soy sauce, but without the use of soy beans means it is Paleo as well.

Make sure your ingredients are organic for a yummy, pesticide-free meal!

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 2 organic free-range Eggs
  • 1 organic Avocado, sliced
  • 1 organic carrot, matchsticked
  • 4 – 5 organic wild caught Shrimp, deveined and shelled
  • 1 large organic cucumber (preferably 2 or more inches at the thickest)
  • Organic Soy-free Soy Sauce alternative
  • Organic Wasabi
  • Optional Organic Spicy Mayonnaise (2 tablespoons Organic Olive Oil Mayonnaise, ¼ teaspoon Organic Sesame Oil, 1 teaspoon Organic Srirarcha Hot Sauce)
  • Cling wrap

  1. Beat eggs and pour small portions into a nonstick pan so that you make thin sheets. Put to the side and cut into thin strips when cooled.
  2. Stretch shrimp by cutting diagonal slits into the abdomen and gently bend each segment until the muscles straighten (you will feel the pops.) Cook shrimp in boiling water until no longer raw. Place immediately in ice bath to prevent overcooking.
  3. Cut the ends off the cucumber and slice cucumber lengthwise into 1/16th thick slices. A vegetable peeler will make this easier to do.
  4. Lay cling-wrap flat on the table and lay strips of cucumber on top of the wrap, overlapping with lengthwise touching. Lay avocado, shrimp, egg strips, and carrots across the overlapping cucumber. Carefully roll the cucumber using the cling-wrap cut into 1.5 inch pieces. Remove cling wrap and serve with soy-free soy sauce, wasabi, and spicy mayo sauce if desired.
